Copper uses a combination of products to provide the infrastructure for securely storing and moving digital assets.
The Copper platform is an institutional-grade exchange, with hot and cold storage enabling digital asset trading and management in one place. Inside the platform, there are two types of account; trading accounts and vaults. Trading accounts can be topped up with fiat or digital assets and allow instant trading. Vault accounts are designed for long-term custody of large balances. Digital assets in a vault account are kept securely offline and can only be accessed through Copper’s offline custody application, Copper Unlimited.
Copper Unlimited is a standalone application linked securely to the Vault in the Copper Platform. It can be installed on any Mac, Windows or Linux computer, creating secure distributed storage for any digital asset held in the Vault on the Copper Platform. Copper Unlimited combines polynomial sharding of private keys and multi-signature methodology to provide unparalleled secure storage of digital assets. This security architecture creates an infrastructure where the private keys no longer exist on any one machine, server, or device. Flexible insurance is available on vault balances for added peace of mind.
Using a Fund’s exchange APIs and the Copper Unlimited custody application, Copper creates an environment where it provides custody, and multiple exchanges facilitate trading and liquidity. Digital assets are managed centrally through the Copper Platform, where investment managers can add funds, move between exchanges, and send to and from cold storage. Since Copper retains custody, investment managers can deploy capital across multiple exchanges knowing
assets can only be sent externally to one location.
